About Michael J. Silvio, R.L.A.
Mike Silvio grew up in the Chicago area with a seemingly innate love for the beauty of design. From a young age, he enjoyed drawing and implementing his plans on the family's suburban property. His high school years were spent largely in the studio rather than pursuing the stereotypical activities for most his age. It was at this time that he began what would ultimately become his career as a Landscape Architect with his four year internship at the well known Brickman Group of Chicago . This experience afforded him both hands-on involvement in construction, as well as assisting him with comprehension of the design process. his passion for design and architecture led him to the University of Illinois at Champaign, from which he graduated with a B.A. in Landscape Architecture.
Though he was courted by many, it was Ben Page and Associates of Nashville, Tennessee whose impeccable reputation and vast experience lured Mike to the Music City. After three years of working with the most elite group of Landscape Architects in the Mid South, Mike embarked on a new adventure and opened his own Landscape Firm.
Since Late 1999, MJSLA has been providing documentation and design services all across the state of Tennessee. From planting plans to grading and drainage plans, hardscape design to softscape, MJSLA has become an award winning company with the capability to create or even recreate any space outside your home . MJSLA has the ability and knowledge to design all types of outdoor structures and external spaces - large or small, urban, suburban and rural, with "hard" (built) and "soft" (planted) materials,, to help bring the indoor out while at the same time assisting in ensuring a site's sustainability.
